Justin Bieber was left stunned after lifting the coveted International Breakthrough Act at tonight’s BRIT Awards.
The 16-year-old has enjoyed a massively successful music career in recent years, and really made his mark in the UK in 2010.
But even he seemed speechless after beating the other acts nominated for the award – rising R&B star Bruno Mars, the Glee Cast, The National and The Temper Trap.
Accepting his award from fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne and British singer Will Young, the floppy-haired teen said: “Thank you. Um, I don’t know really what to say. I want to thank all my fans over here, you guys are amazing all you guys.”
He then went on to thank his label, management and international rep Michael, who he invited up on stage to share his glory.
The BRIT Awards 2011 were held at London’s O2 Arena and were hosted by comedian James Corden. Stars who performed included Cee Lo Green, Plan B, Rihanna and Take That.
