Noddy Holder was "feeling the noise" as he went to give a gong to one of the 10 biggest-selling winners in a hat to mark their 30th birthday.

And the winner was Oasis, but who was going to show up?

Out of the two Gallagher brothers it was Liam who showed up, warring brother Noel obviously deciding to stay at home instead.

Liam thanked Alan McGee, Bonehead, but notably not Noel... who'd have guessed?

He then proved his, err, "rock'n'roll" credentials by throwing his microphone away like a toddler. As host Peter Kay said wisely afterwards: "What a k***."

The nominees were Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head, Dido - No Angel
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms, Duffy - Rockferry, Keane - Hopes & Fears, Oasis - (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, Phil Collins - No Jacket Required, Sade - Diamond Life, The Verve - Urban Hymns and Travis - The Man Who.
