The BRITs featured some fantastic performances from the likes of Take That and Rihanna last night, but while their all-action productions were great fun to watch, one young lady stole the show with a simple yet stunning track – Adele.

The 21 year old looked gorgeous in a black frock with a nod to vintage glamour.

Far from the riot police, drummers and pyrotechnics that featured elsewhere throughout the awards, Adele was just accompanied by a piano which allowed her sultry voice to soar throughout the O2, stunning the audience.

After giving a moving performance of Someone Like You, she received a standing ovation and host James Corden seemed lost for words.

Although she didn’t win an award this year, Adele proved she is a leading light in British music.
